JOHN ILLSLEY UK TOUR POSTPONED: John has been forced to postpone his forthcoming Streets Of Heaven UK tour due to continuing problems with his right hand which have left him unable to play for sustained periods of time.
Following a series of injections to get him through his May dates, John had an operation to relieve Carpal Tunnel syndrome in his right hand at the end of May.
Although the operation was a success, his hand is still too swollen and bruised to play for any length of time. So, reluctantly and under medical advice, it has been decided to postpone the tour now to give enough notice for fans to cancel any arrangements they may have made.
John apologises to anyone who has been disappointed or inconvenienced and will reschedule the dates as soon as he is able. (16/06/10)

GL TOUR - SET LISTS: The official position on the question of the publication of set lists for the Get Lucky tour is that set lists should not be published in respect of Mark's wish to create a sense of surprise for people coming to the shows. (17/04/10)
JIMMY WEBB COLLABORATION: Mark is among various major artists who feature on Jimmy Webb's new album Just Across The River. Mark plays on a track called The Highwayman. The album is due for release on the 29th of June. more info and even more info (28/04/10)
SUNDAY FOR SAMMY: Earlier this year Mark was in Newcastle to take part in the 2010 Sunday For Sammy charity show. The Sunday for Sammy DVD is now available for purchase. (23/04/10)
BBC ARTWORKS: Back in January, Mark took time out with Phil Cunnigham to film for the BBC programme, Artworks. The programme was broadcast on the 10th May on BBC TWO Scotland, Sky Channel 990 and Iplayer. You can check it out here.

JOHN/ALAN/CHRIS: John Illsley, Alan Clark, and Chris White, appeared together in Italy on the 2nd of May at the Crossroads Music Club, via Braccianese 771 - Rome. Completing the line up were Lee Boylan on drums, Steve Tierney on bass, Primiano Di Biase on keyboards and accordion, and my old mate Marco Caviglia on guitars and vocals. Also performing at the gig was up and coming star Polly Wood. (updated: 03/05/10)

JOHN
ILLSLEY NEW ALBUM:
Recorded at Mark's British Grove studio, John's new album, Streets of
Heaven, was released on the 17th of May. The 11 track Creek Records CD
was produced by John and Guy Fletcher. It features a terrific musical line-up,
an Irish rhythym section, a couple of mates from the old days and Mark guesting
on two of the tracks.

The album had its first public outing on Easter Sunday (4th April) when the title track, Streets of Heaven, was played on Aled Jones' BBC Radio 2 programme Good Morning Sunday.
Mark plays electric guitar on the title track, Streets of Heaven and acoustic on Only Time Will Tell.

And before you ask, a 'reiver' was someone who carried out raids over the northern English/Scottish border to plunder and steal cattle, i.e. a border raider.
