2010 Get Lucky Tour - RAH gigs

As part of the 2010 Get Lucky Tour, Mark will be performing at Royal Albert Hall in London from the 30th of May until the 4th of June. In an effort to beat ticket scalpers, a special fans best seats ticket presale has been arranged for all six RAH shows. This special presale starts at 12 noon BST on June 26th, 2009, at www.markknopfler.com and you will need to sign into your mk.com account in order to buy tickets. Please note that there will be a strict limit of four (4) tickets per order for this presale. The cost of each ticket is �50 (�45 plus �5 fees). Tickets will need to be collected in person on the night of the show and you will need proof of ID.

The remaining dates for the 2010 tour, including other UK venues, will be 'rolled out' starting in September. The tour is likely to commence in the USA in late-April 2010 and end in Europe at the end of July.

Following a two-year collaboration, John Illsley and Greg Pearle are to release their new album on the 13th of September. The album, Beautiful You, features guest artists Guy Fletcher and Paul Brady. A single from the album, Secret Garden, will be released on the 6th of October. John and Greg will be undertaking a short UK tour early in 2009. They will do a showcase performance at London's Bush Hall on the 7th of October. Tickets are available from Ticketweb UK

Saving the Norwegian Wolf

A charity compilation CD which includes the MK track Coyote has been released by the environmental organisation the Green Warriors of Norway. Put together by Dag Warner, the release aims to draw attention to the plight of the Norwegian wolf, numbers of which have fallen so low that they are now on the endangered species list. Photography and Recording Policy - new update, 15/04/08

There are increasing numbers of fans filming the show. Everybody should be able to enjoy the concert without interference from others. It is beginning to get too distracting for the band and irritating too many people in the audience.

Please note that starting with immediate effect, cameras/equipment used for recording moving pictures (DVD/video/cine, etc), e.g video/DVD/film cameras, will not be permitted in any part of the venue. Single shot cameras and audio are still okay but please be mindful of your fellow fans.

Standard 35mm film or digital cameras, including SLRs with lenses less than 75mm and compact point-and-shoot models, are allowed provided they do not obstruct the view of other fans. Professional cameras or other equipment, including tripods, are not allowed unless the user has the appropriate working media credential. Personal photography or video may not be used to reproduce the concert for commercial purposes.

Please note that this camera policy is subject to change for any event based on the requests of the venue or promoters. Where an individual venue does not permit any type of recording/photographic equipment (including audio, SLRs, digital compacts, etc) then the policy of that venue will be respected. In cases where the venue says they bow to the policy of the artist, it is recommended that you take a printout of this policy with you on the night of the concert.

The first KTGC tour date to be announced for the US is the 24th of June when Mark will perform at the Red Rocks Ampitheater in Morrison, Colorado. The mk.com presale begins Tuesday, February 12 at 10:00 MST. More N America dates to follow so be sure to check the tour dates page regularly over the coming weeks.

People buying tickets online for the North America shows will get a free KTGC CD with every two tickets for the same show purchased. It does not matter if the tickets are purchased from mk.com or another online ticket outlet. The CD will come to you directly via Warner Brothers in the US and through MarkKnopfler.com for all other regions. You will receive an email from your chosen ticket seller following your purchase giving complete information on receiving your free CD.

Friday 5th of October Mark performed an intimate showcase in London before a select audience of around 80 people. Songs were interspersed with short Q & A sessions with BBC Radio presenter Simon Mayo. The showacse was recorded for BBC Radio 2 and will be broadcast on the 19th of November. Ex-Lindisfarne members Ray Laidlaw and Billy Mitchell, and ex-Dire Straits member Alan Clark, will be performing with Who front man Roger Daltrey and Geordie legend Jimmy Nail at a concert in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Sage Gateshead on 22nd September. Ray, Billy and Alan will be part of a band backing Roger and Jimmy which also features bassist Frankie Gibbon, guitarist John Hedley and percussionist Finn McArdle. Seeing in the Dark

Mark and Guy have collaborated to produce the music for a major TV documentary called "Seeing In The Dark" to be aired by PBS in N America on Wednesday the 19th September (check local listing for times, etc). The hour-long film is the work of award-winning journalist and film-maker Timothy Ferris. Based upon Ferris' best-selling book, it charts the rise and success of amateur astronomers. The film will be available on DVD (HD) from the 20th September at www.pbs.org (06/09/07)

True Love Will Never Fade is to be the first single released from the forth-coming Kill To Get Crimson album. To be released as a digital download on the 24th of September in the UK and much of the rest of Europe, the single will also be available as a 7" vinyl in the UK (although this is subject to change). In the USA and Canada there will be a different single release, Punish The Monkey. The release date for the USA/Canada single is yet to be announced.
